Here are a couple of photos taken on 28th January at the Pup of the Year competition. Oh what fun we had! We had a fab day, such a prestigious event to have qualified for. It was my 2nd year on qualifying, last year it was Tippi there and this time Dixie Dean. Dixie was a true super star - he so enjoyed himself and was so on his toes. We were shortlisted in such stong competition. My dear freind, Rachel, joined me on this special day, and we both had a fabulous day. It was held at Ragley Hall and the surrounding grounds were absolutely stunning. A day I wont forget in a hurry. Thank you to all the people for their lovely comments on Dixie. Also many thanks to PURINA and DOG WORLD for a fabulous day and all the lovley goodies we recieved.

On 28th January we went off to the Pup of the Year finals with Dixie Dean, which as you know is for the elite few. We are only the 4th Shar Pei to qualify for this, and only the 2nd Shar Pei to get shortlisted, so as you can imagine I am one happy lady and so proud of my boy. So many lovely comments from many a future judge, so I am looking forward to the forth coming shows. What can i say... watch this space for future up dates of the witchgait team!

What a great 2 weeks I have had with my gang...

At Boston, under Frank Wildman, Dixie won Best Dog, Best Puppy and Best Opposite Sex. Tippi won 2nd in open bitch.

Then I took Dixie to Market Harborough on Sat 16th Jan. We had breed classes and he won 1st in Junior, Best Puppy in Breed and Best of Breed under Eileen Geeson (Janavons). He then went into the Group and won 4th in Utility Adult Group and Puppy Group 1!!!!! We then went in for the challenge under Mrs Marlent Carter (Somanic) and won Reserve Best Puppy In Show!!!!!! Just out of interest, both the judges were poodle breeder/exhibitors.

Then onto the big show Manchester. Our Judge was yet another top poodle breede, Mrs Carol Harwood (Minarets). Dixie won 1st in Puppy Dog, Best Puppy Dog, the Dog CC, Best Puppy in Breed and, to top it all off, Best of Breed - all at the age of 11 months! This was Dixie first CC. I  was in total shock and so so proud.... what a fantastic few weeks and a great start to 2010.

Went to Purina/Dog World finals on 8th January. What a fabulous day Tippi, my friend Andi and I had. No expense spared, we were welcomed by the Purina reps and received a welcome pack and the benches were all kitted out with your dog’s name above it, a lovely Purina Pro Plan doggie duvet, \ large sack of puppy food, dog world goodies, etc. The competition went ahead in a wonderful venue, with a lovely carpeted arena all lit up with spotlights, etc., so when you had to exhibit your pup you were all lit up. Tippi performed like a true star, she wasn’t fazed by anything and she showed her socks off. After the competition we had free drinks from the bar, then on to a lovely four course meal.WOW! It was a truly memorable day and I will never forget it for sure. Maybe one day I will get the chance to qualify for this prestigious event again. Thank you to Purina/Dog World for a fantastic experience.
